Coquillade Provence - Relais & Chateaux

The spa was a real highlight, with pools, tubs, a sauna, steam rooms, and therapeutic showers, all included in the stay. It exceeded our expectations. The grounds are lovely too, with vineyard views, gardens, and several pools, and breakfast offered a generous spread with attentive staff. We had a warm welcome at reception, got an early check-in and an amazing room upgrade, and the valet team were consistently thoughtful and proactive. We wish we could have stayed longer, and hope to come back.

Our room stood out most. It felt more like a luxurious room in a mansion than a hotel room. The whole stay was fantastic, with lovely rooms and great food, and people across the property were cheerful and welcoming. The landscaping team, housekeeper, front desk, concierge, and waiters all made a great impression.

When I contacted Coquillade after realizing the original booking was under the wrong last name, I hoped we could sort something out. They said they hadn't received any money because it was booked through a third party, and offered no help, leaving me to think the third party would handle it. But the third party later told me Coquillade had refused a refund and insisted on the full charge. That means Coquillade misled me directly, then dealt with the third party behind my back to make sure they got paid in full. It felt completely unprofessional and classless for a place claiming to be five-star. Fancy amenities aren't enough without integrity, and I'm very disappointed. My wife and I originally arrived for a three-day reservation, but the hotel couldn't find it because the last name was wrong and sent us away. That part was understandable. We made a new booking the next day.

If you get up early, you may have the pool to yourself until midday, which was glorious. We had a wonderful stay in a Spa Suite, and lunch at Cipressa was excellent. The check-in staff were great, especially the butler, who showed us around the suite and facility even on a 90F+ day. He explained how everything worked and was friendly, engaging, and professional. Everything at the resort felt top notch. I'd happily recommend it.
