Lilian and Valerie were lovely hosts, and we really enjoyed the food. Give the local white beer a try, too. The peaceful setting was just what we wanted on our drive from Spain to the Netherlands, especially since it feels like more than a room in a concrete hotel.

The room was small, though completely fine for our needs, and the bed was good and comfortable. Valérie and Lilian made us feel welcome, and they prepared a lovely dinner and breakfast around our preferences for gluten-free and vegetarian food. We appreciated that a lot.

After a long drive, it was such a relief to feel at home, with thoughtful details and hosts who were happy to help with anything. We were only passing through and couldn't explore the region, but the kids had a great time in the big garden with its trampoline, treehouse, and slide. We relaxed with wine and olives while they played. Dinner was homemade with local ingredients, including lasagne sheets Valerie made herself. Lilian and Valerie made sure the children had food they liked, too, with plain pasta and several sauces to choose from. They ate loads and loved it. In the morning we had pancakes with local jams and confitures. We had a lovely one-night stay with Lilian and Valerie on our way to Spain.

The breakfast was amazing, and the welcome from the owners felt warm and thoughtful. Our room was very quiet, just right for travelers who need a good rest.

We wanted somewhere that felt personal, not like an impersonal hotel, and this place felt like home. It wasn't a fancy five-star kind of stay, but that wasn't what we were after.
