Hôtel Le Domaine de l'Astragale, Saint-Tropez

I’m disgusted by how little understanding Le Domaine de l'Astragale showed when we had to cancel because of a sudden, serious medical emergency involving a parent. We explained what had happened ahead of time and asked for some flexibility or credit toward a future stay, not a handout. They refused both a refund of any of the €2,500+ charge and a change of dates, citing their policy. For a hotel that calls itself luxury, that response felt like poor customer service and a focus on keeping the money over retaining guests. If an emergency comes up, don't expect sympathy here. We'll never try to stay again. Heartless management and no empathy. Avoid.

The concierge team went out of their way to help us get reservations, even though we visited during the shoulder season. They were exceptional. The staff really made the stay, and I'd recommend the hotel for a first trip to St Tropez. The buildings have an older charm, while the rooms are clean and very well maintained.

We really enjoyed the peaceful setting after days spent at the beach clubs or exploring town. The hotel is beautiful, the service was great, and breakfast was amazing, so don't miss it. Downtown Saint Tropez is just steps away, though there’s also a 24/7 shuttle to take you to the centre and bring you back. It was close enough that my wife and I chose to walk. We'd definitely recommend this place.

The poolside breakfast and dinner setting was romantic, and the property itself is beautiful. We loved the pool, the helpful staff, the concierge service, and the valet parking. Getting into town was easy. A special shout-out to the concierge guys who drove us up and down to town in peak traffic, you were awesome! The whole stay felt magical, and we couldn't fault it. We'll definitely be back.
