Les Gîtes de Claire

The apartment was clean and functional, though the beds weren’t the most comfortable and the bathroom could use some renovation. The courtyard made loading and unloading our luggage much easier, even though there’s no private parking. We had to use paid parking about a five-minute walk away. What stood out most was the setting at Les Gîtes de Claire. The old port and charming town center are both an easy walk away, making this a convenient base for exploring. Those small drawbacks kept the stay from being perfect, but we had a good stay overall.

The apartment was adequate for the price, and the location is very central. I’d have liked more kitchen utensils, and the bathroom window needed a blind for privacy. There wasn’t any worktop space; an island with stools in place of a table might have helped with that. All in all, it was a lovely stay!

Hello, We had a very bad experience booking directly with the landlady at Les Gîtes de Claire. We booked nine months before the planned trip and the full amount was collected immediately. When we cancelled within three weeks of booking, more than eight months before the trip, we were charged a 30% cancellation fee. It was also difficult to reach the landlady by phone, and she took a long time to reply to our email inquiries. We definitely recommend not booking directly. If you decide to book, use a portal with a free cancellation option. Also take a close look at the rooms: one apartment has a toilet in a passage between the bedroom and the living room.

The rooms were clean and well-appointed, and the location put everything within walking distance. Claire was exceedingly helpful when we got misplaced. Parking costs 6 euro/day and is a short distance away.
