The garden was such a lovely place to spend time, and the rooms were quiet and comfortable. We also enjoyed talking with the other guests while we shared it. We stayed in a suite for two nights on a drive through Brittany and the Loire. Breakfast was among the best we've had, with homemade yoghurt, garden produce and fresh pastries. The hosts were excellent, and the restored chateau has beautiful views. Our car broke down and the RAC recovered it, so the hosts arranged bicycles for us. They made it easy to get to nearby villages, though there’s also a good restaurant within easy walking distance. If you’re bringing a sports car, tell the hosts ahead of time. They can arrange better parking, away from the steep, heavily cambered driveway.

You can get to the house by parking for free about 100 metres away, beside the street. The climb up to the house may be difficult in a car that isn’t an SUV. We had a MB CLA. The house itself is amazing, with a great river view. The rooms were clean, the owners kind and friendly, and the atmosphere made it a lovely spot to unwind. Breakfast was lovely too, and we enjoyed chatting with the owners. You feel like a king there. It’s also a good base for day trips.

Sue and Jez made us feel at home, and their breakfasts were lovely. They also gave us plenty of useful ideas for exploring nearby. The chateau sits in an exquisite location and the hosts were friendly and attentive. After a swim, we especially enjoyed having champagne from a local wine cave beside the pool.
