Hôtel Sanotel

The staff were helpful and positive when we needed assistance with booking, and the hotel was clean with parking. We stayed last night and thought it had the potential to be very good. The problem was the air conditioning: it was set to 25 degrees and we couldn't lower it. Reception gave a very silly explanation when we called. If you're staying here in summer, expect a hot room.

The location is lovely, with restaurants about a ten-minute walk across the river. The hotel looks appealing at first, but feels superficial once you notice the basics: there’s no wardrobe, just three clothes hooks and one hanger. The shower is handheld only, there’s no hair dryer or comfortable chair, and the bed is only 4'6" wide. It wouldn’t take much to make this a lovely hotel.

We had a very clean room, and the staff were kind. The hotel has a working lift and parking behind a gate. It’s close to town, just across the bridge over the Loire, and our room had a view of the river. If you’re lucky, you might see swallows flying by and building their nest on the wall.

Good rooms and good service. Just needs a little improvement.
