We were lucky enough to have a little balcony looking out over the garden and the beautiful views, and the room was comfortable with its own bathroom. The decor is unusual and full of character, created by Patrick, who has owned the building for 50 years and welcomed guests for 23. Nicole and Patrick clearly care about every detail and make you feel at home. We had a marvellous night at Relais Fleuris in the lovely village of Gilette, surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Fresh continental breakfast came with warm smiles. We’d happily return. A bientôt!

The mountain views are gorgeous, and the place is cozy, old-fashioned, and impeccably kept. Breakfast was definitely better than at most similar places in France, though it was nowhere near an American-style hotel buffet. A lovely hidden gem if you appreciate this kind of design, but probably not a fit if you want something very modern or futuristic.

Breakfast was generous, with homemade things served in a kitchen that felt warm and charming. The room had a poetic feel, with tapestries and furniture in colors from another era that suited this typical village in the hinterland of Nice. Even the spacious bathroom added to the feeling of a luxurious, relaxing stay. Nicole and Patrick gave us such a lovely welcome that we’d like to have this kind of experience again. Our stay was too short, but every part left a good impression.
