Gites De La Racine

There’s a lot of potential here, but the cottage still needs some work. The outdoor setting is pleasant, though it could be improved quite a bit. Upkeep is really lacking, and it wasn’t clean at all. Such a shame.

It’s a great, spacious cottage tucked away somewhere really quiet. There’s no cell service, but disconnecting for a weekend was so nice. The cleaning was poor, though, with lots of cobwebs. One vacuum isn’t enough for a place this size, and there wasn’t even a broom, so it was hard for our group to clean up beforehand. I do recommend it, and I’d definitely return.

The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and was quick to ask if we needed anything. It’s a quiet spot beside the woods, and the chalet is well furnished. We stayed Monday, July 22nd to Friday, July 26th, 2019. Even though cleaning was included in the rental, we tidied and swept out of respect, which isn’t something everyone does. A check-in and check-out inspection would be useful. We found a broken glass, the bathroom towel rack was loose, and the kitchen sink leaked. Some updating would help. I see this as a rental for a holiday where you don’t spend much time indoors. We’ll go back.

There are plenty of hiking trails you can reach from the cottage, which will definitely bring me back. It has all the appliances and dishes you need, but the bedding wasn’t very comfortable and could do with an update.
