Le Jardin d'Eden

We stumbled on this restaurant while walking around Giverny after visiting Monet’s Garden that day, and were lucky enough to get a table without booking. In September 2025, my wife and I had our first Michelin Star Restaurant experience, and it set such a high bar for the rest of our holiday that I don’t think anywhere else will beat it. The sommelier really knew her drinks, and I had the best Syrah I’ve tasted in years. The food and service were amazing, and the chef easily accommodated my wife’s allergy. We’ll definitely return when we’re in the area. Next time I’ll book, since I’m sure they’re usually fully booked.

The food was very good, and the young staff looked after us beautifully. Le Jardin des Plumes is an ambitious tasting menu restaurant in a quiet spot about half a mile from the Monet house in Giverny. We’d mentioned at the start that we needed a taxi to the train station, but a mix-up meant there wasn’t one available when we finished. What I’ll remember is a young woman on staff saying, “I have a car, I'll take you,” and then doing exactly that. Her kindness was extraordinary. I regret that, in the rush of the moment, I forgot to ask her name.

We had the on-site restaurant’s tasting menu in the evening, and it was delicious and beautifully presented. Breakfast was brought to our room, and although we weren’t sure what to expect, it was fabulous. We ate it at the little patio set. The rooms, food, and staff were all really excellent.

The staff were so attentive, and the restaurant food was sharp and full of flavor, absolutely amazing. We loved the room too, and really appreciated the upgrade. Best recommendations from the Danes🇩🇰
