The riverside location was lovely, and the owner was friendly. We had a good breakfast, and our room was lovely, though getting up to it with heavy cases was a bit of a struggle. We arrived around 4 pm but couldn't get in for quite a while, until the owner's father happened to come by. Parking was good at the sister hotel farther along the road. The hotel itself was a very good standard.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the location overlooking the river is great, with restaurants and bars all around. We had a lovely time in Givet and found the hotel comfortable. Our room's bathroom was tiny, though, and the breakfast felt expensive at €14 per person each day for just bread, some fruit, ham and cheese. Eggs, bacon or sausages would have made that price feel more worthwhile. I'd stay for the location and friendly service, not for breakfast or the bathroom.

No one was there when we arrived, and the place wasn't what we expected. The rooms are tiny, with very small toilets and showers. It's on a main road, so it gets really noisy. It was hot, and we couldn't avoid the noise. There were spiders too.

The sheets were dirty, the Wi-Fi didn't work, and the place was expensive. There was nobody at reception, so I waited 20 minutes. Worst hotel ever?

The waitresses were nice when we stopped for a drink, but why charge twice the usual price for a glass of wine?
