We were told we’d be staying in the château, but nobody mentioned there was another building just below it with the same name. It definitely wasn’t a château, and it doesn’t appear on any of the official websites. The place was full of bugs and wasn’t cleaned at all while we were there. It was so dirty that I developed an infection. We’ll be suing. Please be smarter than we were.

I spent several weekends there, but I never ate well. The dishes always seemed bland and not very tasty to me, despite what other reviews say. They do offer vegetarian options, but it felt like they just took the meat away. For 20 euros, I got overcooked potatoes and vegetables. The location is quiet and convenient, and it works for group stays, but it’s too expensive. You can find nice rooms with more comfort in the city for the same price. There were also bad smells in the toilets.

The room was newly renovated and really spacious, and I didn’t miss the view from the side wing at all. The food was great too. One small surprise: nobody mentioned the tarte flambée served at the end had apples in it. Those were even better than the earlier ones. Wonderful!
