A Bois Mort

Maison Maurice felt like a five-star stay, from the luxury bedding and Pierre Marcolini chocolates to the lovely antiques and generous welcome pack. Richard was just as warm and generous in person, and his food and drinks were fabulous. We spent the week cycling country lanes, walking by the river, and eating and drinking well, along with plenty of time lounging by the pool. The terrace has stunning views and sunshine all day, perfect for a cocktail or two. There’s also an old barn with a well-stocked games room. What a hidden paradise. Already thinking about dates for next year.

Richard has spoiled us during our second visit to A Bois Mort, and we feel so lucky to have found this place. He’s a wonderful host and an incredible chef, as you can see in the photos. We’ve spent the last five days swimming in the beautiful saltwater pool and sunbathing on its stunning terrace. It’s such an upgrade from our last visit! We’re staying in the old goat shed, which is just right for two, with a roomy feel, a comfortable bed, a private terrace, and cozy bathrobes. It also stays cool inside even in hot weather. Richard and Stephen have made a peaceful luxury oasis in the French countryside, with a stunning pool. The guest facilities and beautiful accommodations made for an incredible week with my husband, son, and friends. Service and attentiveness were first class. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area who wants a peaceful, luxurious stay.
