Le Vieux Castel

The breakfast was generous and good, with fresh homemade things like jam and yogurt. The house itself is full of charm, with lovely, spacious grounds, and it’s peaceful there. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated, with good bedding and spotlessly clean. The hostess was kind and welcoming, and gave us helpful tips for seeing the beautiful region. It’s also a great base for visiting the main sights. We had a wonderful stay and I’d happily recommend it.

We stayed two nights in the Onyx room, which had lovely decor. We were traveling by motorcycle, and the owner kindly let us park our bike in front of her shed. She made us feel very welcome, and breakfast was excellent. Thanks again for a lovely Norman getaway.

It’s well placed for getting onto the main roads and exploring Normandy, whether you’re going toward Honfleur or Deauville, or the other way to the D-Day landing beaches. The owner is lovely and really attentive. Our room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Don’t hesitate to visit.

Catastrophic! There were three bedrooms, each with its own entrance to the cottage, but the living area was far too small for the number of beds. We had no hot water at all, and the owner didn’t believe us. Not great for the babies and children. And what about those septic tank smells?
