The prices are affordable and everything is well organised. It’s a small, peaceful campsite with apartments to rent too. A good spot if you’re into nature, walks, horse riding, quad rides or motorcycle touring.

There’s plenty of space on the pitches, and enough toilets and other facilities. It’s a small campsite, and the pool can get pretty crowded, though the depth is nice. The owner is Dutch.

The pitches are lovely and the campsite is a nice size, not too big. Larger caravans may take a bit of manoeuvring to get in, but the Wi-Fi was good and we had a wonderful stay. One small letdown was the baguettes. They’re not as good as they used to be, and we’ve noticed the same in a few places. Otherwise, I’ve got nothing to add to all the praise.

You can head straight into the forest from the campsite, which is set against a mountain and has lovely views. We stayed for a week at the end of August, near the village of Granges-Aumontzey in the Vosges Mountains. The pitches are level, and there’s a small, attractive pool. The restroom block is a bit dated, but it was clean and perfectly adequate. The village has a bakery, butcher, small supermarket and a few restaurants. For larger supermarkets, Bruyeres is 10 kilometers away. There are also plenty of trips to charming towns nearby. A great place, with very friendly owners.
