SOWELL HOTELS Golfe de Saint-Tropez

The pool is large, with plenty of loungers around it, and our room was spacious with a shower that worked very well. Housekeeping were friendly and attentive. My husband and I were also very happy with the breakfast spread and the picnic lunch box, where you can choose what to take from the buffet. With semi or full board, drinks are free in the restaurant at any time, day or night. Laura and Emma from reception were especially accommodating, attentive and helpful. We were really pleased with the service, the staff and the room, and had a very happy stay at Sowell Hotel Saint Tropez. I'm sure there are other good things I'm forgetting. Our one small complaint was the wifi, which was sometimes intermittent. Thank you so much, we'll definitely come back! Mottier

Laura at reception was especially lovely and gave me some great tips, and the manager was friendly too. The staff made the stay, and being close to Nice, Cannes and Saint Tropez was great. Already looking forward to May, and hoping I can get the same room again.

We came in the off season and had a lovely time. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the pool was lovely. There was also tennis, pitch and putt golf, ping pong and bikes, which were handy for exploring the nearby cycle paths. The beach is at the end of the road, and St Tropez is close enough to visit. Our comfortable room had a balcony with good quality furniture and a view over the grounds. Meals were buffet style and fairly basic, but there was always lots to choose from. I'd get there as the meal starts, since you can otherwise end up waiting a while for an aperitif.

We left two days early, and this was nowhere near four star, two at a stretch. The rooms were dull and old, and it seemed to attract people over 80 and their dogs. I didn't see anyone under 70. Avoid.
