Hotel Le Phoebus Garden & Spa

The night receptionist was very helpful, even with the language barrier. We were stressed after not being able to find anywhere to stay, so being able to check in very late made a big difference. The room was cosy but basic, and some of the photos can give a misleading impression of the outside and interior.

Waking up to birds singing was so nice, and the breakfast was awesome 👍🏻. The restaurant looks out over the pond, and the room had everything you might need.

The room was clean, and having parking right outside was handy. It was pretty small, though, and the bed wasn't very comfortable. There wasn't really a view either. Breakfast fell short of French standards for me, with only industrial cheese and croissants that were industrial and stale.

We paid 170 euros for a night and left without checking in. The photos didn't match what we found, and the moment we got out of the car we wondered if this could really be the place we'd booked. Reception felt unwelcoming, and we didn't feel treated like clients. We were told check-in wasn't until 17:00, which was strange, so we tried the restaurant for lunch. The staff there seemed not to care. We asked to sit outside on the terrace, but were told they didn't serve there because of mosquitoes. We left, and that first impression only made us want to get away. When we asked for our money back, we never got it. I can't call this a hotel and wouldn't recommend it at all.
