It was frustrating to arrive before midday, as I'd selected in the reservation, only to be told the room wasn't ready and that we had to leave and return later. The woman at reception didn't seem to make much effort to help. I understand the hotel was being renovated, but there was no contact phone number and the link to my booking didn't work, so at first I thought I'd been scammed.

Paint fumes were strong throughout the property, and the freshly painted balconies in the photos gave me a migraine. They wouldn't help when I raised it, and none of the booking websites, including their own, warned about the renovation. They were still selling rooms while work was going on. Don't stay here.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was clean and fine for getting some rest after a trip. It was a little small, but fair for the price. The location was good, too.

The fenced parking was set back from the road and pavement, and there were several restaurants on site. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower had strong pressure. Staff were friendly. For an inexpensive, basic overnight stop on our way from Germany to France, it was great for what we expected. The five-star rating is for the price and expectations, not because this is a luxury five-star hotel 😉

The room had an odd smell and was very small. The toilet and shower weren't comfortable either. At check-in, the machine asked for €0.80, but it wouldn't take any of our three cards, so we had to call someone for help.
