The bathroom ran all night, the shutters were broken, and the room had no soap. There was also a damp smell in the restaurant and the hygiene was mediocre. Worst of all, my reservation had been forgotten and given to someone else. A staff member asked who I was, what I wanted, and when I'd booked. I'll leave it there, though there's plenty more. I'm a regular at Logis de France, but this place should be banned.

The rooms have been renovated beautifully, and the portions at dinner were generous. The evening menu had three starters, three mains, then cheese or dessert, with nothing to complain about in the meal. We got a superb welcome, too. Parking can be tricky, and noise from the cobblestone street cost it a star.

The waitress was pleasant and seated the children by the TV, serving them first. The owner, though, wasn't very pleasant. The food was average, and the fries were poor, blue-green and made from frozen potatoes. The toilet wasn't very clean either.

The setting and spa earned three stars from me, but the bistro gets zero. During our overnight stay it was noisy and cold from drafts, and the food was inedible. I know what hand-cut steak tartare is supposed to be, but these pieces were more like kebab filling, marinated in vinegar. I rarely leave three-quarters of my meal uneaten.
