After we’d spent about two hours looking for a room, the receptionist really saved us. She was helpful again after check-in and called a nearby restaurant to get us a table. The room was clean and functional, but the bathroom was tiny, just about usable. The bed was great, with one large, very firm mattress, which suited me as a tall, heavy person. The hotel is in a business park, and the only snacks available are from vending machines.

The noise was awful, and you could hear everything happening in the hotel. I also felt nervous leaving my car in the parking lot, with about five men standing there smoking all evening. I’m not sure what their story was, and I don’t know who was being accommodated there or whether they were paying guests. The sheets, pillowcases and towels were stained. The shower, toilet and sink were crammed into a room about 1M square, which made it completely impractical. I wouldn’t stay again even if they paid me. There are no redeeming features.

This seems well suited to business trips, and the name Sweet and Smart fits. My room was clean and had enough space for me. The toilet, wash basin and shower are together in a small separate room. The AC got noisy at night when it automatically defrosted, which happened regularly, about every 2 hours when outside temperatures were too low. Breakfast was very "smart", but okay. For something better, I’d recommend "Pains Viennoiseries Pâtisseries Snacking FROEHLICH", just up ahead on the "Rue nationale" towards Hambach.

The staff were really nice, and the hotel was very clean. There’s a Lidl 200m away. The bathroom is extra small, and the thin walls mean it can be a little noisy. Still, for 50€ it’s more than okay.

Fine for one brief night, but I definitely wouldn’t stay here again.
