Hotel Au Pã©rigord Noir

We’ve had a summer home about a 10-minute drive away for a while, but only tried the restaurant last night. The menu’s quality and range really surprised me. Everything was fresh and cooked from scratch, and the staff stayed friendly and delightful despite the intense heat and peak-season crowds. I’m an inveterate cook and foodie, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. We only ate at the restaurant, though.

The pool was fantastic, with great views, and the hotel’s surroundings were beautiful and quiet. We were there as a large group on a trip to France to play Rugby, and our host was a star, helping with everything we needed and putting up with all sorts. The rooms were nice and cleaned well every day; new bedding and towels were available on request. We ate fresh, flavourful food with plenty of variety. The hotel and staff were exceptional. I’d love to return soon and can’t recommend it enough.

The rooms are fine, and the bathrooms have full plastic inserts, but they’re functional and clean. The pool is clean and very pleasant, just the shade of blue you want to see. Nice hotel, though the staff only speak French.

The restaurant is worth a visit too, with a small menu of refined dishes. The hotel is very nice and quiet, the staff are lovely, and the prices are good for the quality.
