B&B HOTEL Herblay

After traveling from the USA to Paris, I arrived late and couldn’t find another available hotel, so I booked here for four people. Before booking, I asked to see the room, but security refused and said I had to reserve first. Once I got the door code and went in, I found the air conditioning wasn’t working. When I reported it, security said they couldn’t help and that the whole block had no air conditioning. If they knew, I don’t understand why they didn’t tell me before I booked or let me see the room first. Then he started bullying me, which scared me, and I asked to move rooms. A woman from management came out yelling, said this was all they had, and offered to return my money. When I asked for a cancellation receipt, she said they didn’t provide receipts for cancellations. It was a really bad experience in France as a tourist. I can’t recommend B&B with staff and service like this.

We were out most of the time, so a basic room was all we needed. It was comfortable for the price and had plenty of space for the four of us, though there were no 5-star luxuries. The staff were polite and helpful, and did their best to speak English since we knew very little French. I had a very pleasant stay at a reasonable price, and I’ll very likely come back on my next visit to Paris.

We had nowhere booked when we arrived, and this was the best place we could find on the spot. We booked for four but there were five of us, and they let us squeeze in. It’s affordable and easy to find, though the room could be better. Still, what a lovely place to stay.

Breakfast was generous and nicely presented, though a little expensive. The rooms are quite large, but very basic and dark because the balconies above block the light. There was also a strong drain smell in our room, and we were glad to leave. Getting to the hotel meant driving over two huge holes in the road leading into the car park. They could easily damage a car, even though that stretch isn’t hotel property and is the only way in. The location felt busy and potentially hostile, as you might expect on the edge of a huge city like Paris.
