Best Western Le Cheval Blanc - Vieux Port

Service was very good. It's an average, middle-of-the-road hotel, well placed for an easy walk to some great bars and restaurants.

The old house has uneven walls and creaky floors, which give it a special character. My room had enough space and an excellent view of tourists passing by, though the bathroom was tight and really only suited to one person at a time. Breakfast was pleasant, with a great range of local specialties. The staff were friendly, though during my stay I only saw one friendly person at reception. There was nobody at the breakfast bar, but everything was prepared well. The hotel also has a large public parking area nearby for an extra charge. Once you've arrived, you can leave the car there and explore everything on foot. The location is great, just a few minutes' walk from the centre of this lovely town. I can very much recommend this place.

It was great having secure parking just down the street. The hotel is close to the inner harbor, and our room looked out over the outer harbor. During the day there's some noise, but at night, after the day trippers have gone, it's very quiet and feels like you have this wonderful town to yourself. We were there in April. The room was very clean but quite small and poorly laid out, and the bathroom was uncomfortably small too. The old place could use an update. It was fine for one night, though.

The location at the old port is beautiful, with shops and restaurants just minutes away. Honfleur itself is stunning and worth a few days. The main drawback was room 326. We paid for a superior room, but it was absolutely tiny, with about a foot on either side of the bed. We had to turn sideways to get in or out, and could only open suitcases on the bed. The floor slopes too. We've traveled all over Europe, and this is the second-smallest room we've had. When I asked reception, I was told it was an upgraded room. Breakfast was standard. The location is the big plus. Travelling with the Starrs gives this hotel 3 stars.
