Le Belvdre

The walls were so thin that when someone shut a door down the hall, our door and walls vibrated. We couldn't sleep and had to check out. The pillows felt harder than air, and the synthetic mattress was so slippery that the wrong move could send you right off it. It felt like plastic meant to protect against spills in an elderly home. There were stains all over the carpet, too, for the 800 bucks a week we paid. Don't expect to find parking after 9pm if someone takes up two or three spaces. Nobody does anything, and the response is to look somewhere else, as if there's a spot nearby. Getting into town on foot is an adventure: there's no sidewalk, and it takes 20 minutes along the side of a four-lane road, over grass and around holes and cars. To us, this place was hell. I've slept on the floor in Africa surrounded by mosquitoes, and that was way better. P.S. Ask three times to have your room cleaned or they won't do it.

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. The hotel has been updated with fresh, modern decor, and there was plenty of parking, including EV charging points. Our room was spacious, lovely and comfortable. The welcome was warm, friendly and efficient. The breakfast room was bright and airy, with a good selection of food. The usual IBIS shower room pod was bright and worked well, though the soap dispensers were set so high that my wife, who is 5' 2", couldn't hold her hand flat underneath to catch the soap. It ran down her palm and wrist instead. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Honfleur, so it's well placed. Access involves a steep set of steps which were wet and potentially slippery when we were there. To get to a pavement, we had to cross two carriageways and a wide grassy central reservation. Fortunately it wasn't wet, but that route may not suit people with mobility issues.

A no-frills hotel that's clean and tidy. There's plenty of parking on site, along with a bar and buffet breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We had plenty of secure parking at the back, which worked perfectly for our group of scooters. The rooms were clean, spacious enough, and comfortable. The harbor is an easy walk away, too.
