Ibis Budget Nancy Porte Sud

The hotel staff were kind, but the room was in poor condition. When I tried to use the bathroom, the doorknob came off in my hand and I couldn’t open the door at all. The sheets weren’t in place either. We skipped breakfast because it seemed far too basic for the price and ended up eating on the road.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean, but the accommodation was nowhere near the standard of the other Ibis hotels I’ve stayed in. It needs a major refurbishment, and the breakfast menu should be better.

It’s a very basic place, as you’d expect at this price. We got a cheap bed for the night, clean facilities, and parking. The staff were quite friendly, and the neighborhood was quiet enough for a decent night’s sleep.

I stop here once or twice a year to rest on my way to Southern France. It’s quite okay, with good parking and a grill restaurant nearby; there’s also a Kfc across the street. The price per room is now higher, about 56€. When it was called Etap, it cost much less. The rooms have had fresh paint and some new interior. I like the Etaps and know what to expect, though budget hotels are much cheaper these days and offer more service and quality.
