À l'Approche de la Mer

The lasagne was the low point of our visit. It arrived lukewarm, runny and stringy, with so much cheese that I could barely find any pasta layers. The flavour was very bland. I asked for it to be heated, and although the waiter gave a small apology and brought it back hot, I still couldn’t eat it. When I explained my dissatisfaction as our plates were cleared, the response felt immature and there was barely an apology. We skipped dessert and coffee, and nobody offered anything in response to the poor main course. We’d booked ahead because it was a bank holiday weekend. The restaurant was almost empty when we called, while other local places seemed busy, which perhaps should have told us something. We also ordered mushroom tagliatelle, but as an Italian restaurant I’d expected better from the lasagne. At the bill, we said we weren’t happy and would rather not pay for that dish. The manager offered a 50% reduction by text message. I’m afraid the experience was very poor, and we won’t be back or recommend the restaurant.
