We got our money back and left. On arrival to book, the owner had to put her extremely aggressive dog in another room. She’d said it was fine to bring our dog, and told us our room would be ready after 16:00, with the door unlocked so we could go straight up without ringing the bell. After a walk along the beach, we came back and found nobody around, so we went upstairs. Her dog had followed us and attacked our dog before we even reached the room. We separated them and shouted for the owner to come get her dog. She managed to control it with difficulty, then came back and screamed at us, behaving even more aggressively than the dog. I can’t leave a review without giving a star, but from us it’s zero stars.

The bed was comfortable, the place was clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly. It’s in a quiet spot, about a five-minute walk from town. Still, it needs some TLC and a bit more work, plus a lick of paint, to bring it up to standard.

The location is great, but the hotel itself was mediocre, even disastrous. I woke several times wondering if I was on the floor because the mattress was so hard. There was no proper duvet, just a sheet folded in half, and the pillows were so hard I was better off without them. The decor is dated, and the upper floor is only reachable by stairs, which is a real pain with luggage or for older people. There was no shower gel, either, and if you’re two people, be prepared to share one towel. The price is extremely high for what’s offered. I wouldn’t recommend it, except perhaps in an emergency.

The room was clean, with a comfortable 160 cm bed, a small bathroom with a shower and toilet, plus a table, TV and refrigerator. At breakfast, the owner sets out a basket of croissants, brioche and brioche bread fresh from the nearby bakery, along with coffee and tea on the landing. Guests also get a key to the building’s entrance for the night, which feels reassuring. The owner is friendly, and the common areas are quite charming, with plants and statues. Good value for money and a great place to stay.
