The peaceful feel of the estate stayed with us most. Gaël welcomed us so warmly and generously, and the château, pool, and tennis court all show how much care goes into the place. We stayed June 20-21, and everything from booking through the goodbye felt unusually thoughtful. The little thank-you note afterward was a lovely finishing touch. It’s a calm, elegant hideaway in the heart of France, with a remarkable experience for the price. We’d happily return.

Breakfast gave guests from the five rooms a chance to swap ideas over pastries, cheese, and fruit before heading out into the Loire Valley. A rental car is essential for seeing the vineyards, hills, and many châteaux. Chambord, Chenonceau, Cheverny, and Clos Lucé, Leonardo da Vinci’s last home, are among the sights. The owners, Gaël and Cécile, restored this charming 17th-century château by the River Cosson, originally built in 1620 by Councillor of State Guillaume Ribier. They and their two young interns welcomed us warmly and offered helpful suggestions for visits and meals. Our spacious, well-equipped room kept its period character, with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom. There were a couple of service hiccups because we don’t speak French well, though everyone tried to sort things out. It felt like staying as nobility with friends.

The owners and staff made us feel at home, and the owners shared useful tips for nearby châteaux, restaurants, and wineries, all about a 10-20 minute drive away. Our spacious, clean room paired 17th-century paintings and an antique atmosphere with up-to-date comforts. We loved the château’s distinctive history and would gladly come back. Highly recommend.

We’re grateful for the warm welcome and an unforgettable stay in your lovely château. The garden was so peaceful, the rooms charming, and breakfast delicious. Every detail, from the beautiful decor to the attentive service, showed real care and made the whole experience feel special.

The château tour at 5:00pm is fascinating, so be sure to take it. The grounds, setting, location, and amenities were all superb. Our stay was a trip highlight, which says a lot given how beautiful the Loire’s châteaux are.
