The grounds and the view of Porquerolles are beautiful, and the staff were friendly. Still, for what we paid, close to 900 usd for two nights for two adults and two babies, I wouldn't return. We could have found somewhere better for the money. The food was the biggest letdown: simple dishes like pasta and rice, but poorly cooked, and the glasses, plates and cutlery were dirty. The rooms are very small, the old bathroom barely fits one person, and the mattresses aren't comfortable. Only one bedroom has AC, so sleeping in the other one was nearly impossible.

Here's a detailed picture of our stay. It's cheaper than Club Med, and the food was hit or miss but mostly pretty decent. The staff were lovely, especially Tatiana, the fitness teacher. The location is convenient from Gare d Hyeres, about a 20-minute car ride, though taxis are hard to find. Standard rooms are extremely small, with a bathroom no bigger than about 1.5sqm. The facilities are dated, and only one room has AC, so the others get really uncomfortable. Some guests had a lot of night noise because their rooms were near the bar and terrace. Rooms aren't cleaned and towels aren't changed regularly, just once halfway through the trip. The beach is the only one there, and it wasn't nice: lots of algae and sand that's more like tiny rocks. It's not a good spot for the beach with little kids. The criques are beautiful but hard to reach with small children unless you carry them, so forget strollers. Kids can use the pool, which is nice, but it seemed to be broken the week we were there and wasn't heated enough. The children and parents were freezing. The restaurant view is nice, but there were tons of wasps. I don't know whether staff were doing anything to deal with them. Four children were bitten in two days at the mini club. The biggest issue was the closing day. The club shuts for the season on Saturday 1st September and guests are made to leave by 12pm at the latest. We expected, based on the usual understanding, to be able to stay around for a few hours before our train or flight. Instead, facilities all close, the room has to be empty by 10am, and there's nowhere to stay afterward, not even the terrace to buy a snack or drink. Nobody told us this.

The buffet food is good and has plenty of choice. The pool is lovely and the beaches are very nice too. The rooms are a letdown, though: basic, poorly decorated, and nowhere near what I'd expect from a four-star hotel. The bathroom and toilet are both tiny.
