Lido Beach

The breakfast is good, and the beach is incredibly close. But the place leans too heavily on that amazing location while providing very little comfort, and it doesn't really feel like a hotel. The furniture is uncomfortable, there’s no air conditioning, and although Wi-Fi is advertised, there isn't any. There’s no network signal or TV either. These things seem easy to fix and would make the stay much better.

At 190 euro a night, this felt like an overpriced, run-down room. It was dark, had a window looking onto the bar with no privacy, and was uncomfortable, with a horrible bed and bedding. Some furniture was rusty, most of it was low quality, and some pieces looked like they'd been found in the bin. There was no coffee setup, air conditioning, or TV, and the Wi-Fi was weak. Breakfast wasn't included. When we arrived, the busy manager seemed bothered by us; there was no welcome or even a smile. At checkout, nobody asked how the stay had been, they just wanted the money. There are nearby hotels at the same price that offer far better comfort and value. Very disappointing, and I won't return. Avoid unless there are no other options.

We had an amazing week at Lido Beach and will return. The rooms are fun, with very cool decorations, and the neighborhood is great, with around 30 restaurants a short walk away in the marina. The hotel sits right on the water, and the team takes good care with breakfast and the other meals. Our favorites were the octopus and ceviche. The bar has beer on tap, but its champagne list is short and overpriced.

The location is great, but we only visited the restaurant. Last year, the food and service were great. This time, the food was quite average, and service was very poor. Where was the Chef? Our waiter was slack and seemed not to care about customers. It was far too expensive for what we got, so we won't be back for a while.
