7Hotel&Spa (ex. Holiday Inn Strasbourg Illkirch)

We stayed here with our seven-year-old while visiting the Strasbourg Christmas Market. The tram into the city center is easy to reach, and there was parking in front of the hotel. The staff were lovely, especially Anahit and Ivan at reception, who were supportive and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily, though its equipment felt below what we'd expect from a four-star hotel: there was no fridge or coffee machine, just a kettle and a few tea and coffee bags. Breakfast was good but the choices were limited, and it cost 18€ per adult and 11€ per child, paid at checkout. The spa was clean and nice, but we felt cold after leaving the pool because the surrounding air wasn't warm enough. It was 15€ per adult, also paid at checkout. We had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

The hotel and reception were really good, but eating at the restaurant was a different story. We were ignored until I waved in the air for about ten minutes. I couldn't manage to order dessert either. Then, as soon as I walked away, the server suddenly noticed me. If negative tips were possible, I'd leave one.

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and I really liked this hotel. There's a gym and swimming pool, with spa access as an option.

Had a very nice stay, and parking is free. Just remember to reserve ahead if you want to use the spa.
