B&B HOTEL Paris Italie Porte de Choisy

I left after one night of a three-night booking, having checked in on November 20. The situation was unbearable, but I got no apology or refund. From the way they acted, it seemed a refund was never an option. Of all the hotels and B&Bs I've stayed in, this was by far the worst. The hotel was in the middle of major construction and renovation. Booking platforms, the hotel's website, and its official homepage said nothing about safety risks. The chemical renovation smell in the room was overpowering and pungent, and I felt it posed a serious health risk. No staff member acknowledged it or took responsibility. Their attitude seemed to be that once the room was sold and paid for, guests' well-being didn't matter. When I complained at reception about the smell, staff came into my room with the chemical product shown in the picture to cover it up instead of dealing with the cause. Our personal belongings, food, and hygiene products were exposed to it. It felt like our safety meant nothing. Staff also behaved aggressively and disrespectfully, physically pushing and shoving guests. I feared for my safety if I stayed. I questioned what kind of training they had, since their conduct suggested they were taught to dismiss, intimidate, and threaten people rather than show basic hospitality. None of the staff understood English, and complaints seemed to get the same response: they'd ignore you, act as though you weren't there, and avoid solving anything. It felt deliberate, as if they knew guests had no effective way to escalate or report problems. Before writing this, I read reviews from people who said their belongings had been stolen from their rooms without any response from the hotel. After my own experience, that didn't surprise me. It seemed this hotel was capable of anything. The room conditions, value, staff professionalism, location, and handling of problems were all worse than I could have imagined. I feel obliged to share what happened so other travelers don't face the same inhumane treatment and possible risks. Please think twice before booking.

We came from Germany and arrived late for breakfast, just as the kitchen was about to close. Junior still welcomed us, took good care of us, and let us stay longer than usual. The rooms were clean, and with the renovations going on, everything smelled fresh and new. A wonderful experience. Junior and the other staff were so friendly and kind.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean too. We were by the main street, but couldn't hear it at all because the room was completely soundproof. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood, well placed near the metro, and receptionist Abdoulaye was extremely kind and helpful.

The location worked well for us, with public transport nearby, quick access to a cab, and stores and restaurants around the area. There were also convenient vending machines in the hotel lobby. My sister and I felt safe during our stay and had a very good experience. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. I'd definitely recommend the hotel. The quality matched the price.
