Hostellerie du Coq d'Or

I was most disappointed by the owner’s attitude. She seemed to think she was being polite, but the way she treated us came across as rude, and communication felt difficult. It made my time in Bordeaux much less pleasant than I expected. Her service was terrible. I was sitting normally in my chair without blocking the aisle, but she made me move farther out because, supposedly, there had to be “three meters of clearance.” That left me in the blazing midday sun in mid-August, burning from head to toe. Meanwhile, the group at the next table sat comfortably in the aisle without anyone saying anything to them. Her tone bothered me too. She even started talking about how she raised her daughter. With all due respect, that has nothing to do with customers and isn’t an appropriate way to speak to them in a hospitality setting. I expected more courtesy and professionalism. A real shame, and honestly, I’m glad I didn’t have her as a mother.
