As a budget option, it has some real pluses: the rooms are nicely decorated, the bed was extremely comfortable, and we liked both the decor and the air conditioning. But the shower in room5 had a large crack in the base and felt close to giving way. Check-in is limited to 4-7pm. We arrived an hour early on a hot day, found nobody at the desk, and had to wait in the car. The hallway carries a lot of sound, so we could hear other rooms. A neighbor's dog barked at 11pm and again in the morning, and there was no hotel staff working at night to deal with it. There were some downsides to staying here.

We had a lovely three-night stay and enjoyed both the hotel and your village, Le Joucas. Our room was small, but had everything we needed and a great view from both windows. The staff were welcoming and helpful, breakfast was good, and we had two excellent dinners in the restaurant. The people serving us were patient and kind despite our very poor French. The hotel itself is very nice, with a lovely pool, and the staff were generally helpful. We appreciated that, especially since this was otherwise a good stay. A friend had recommended it after several good visits, and the region is beautiful, with other interesting villages and towns nearby. We arrived on a hot July afternoon before the 4pm check-in and were invited to cool off in the pool, which overlooks a vineyard. Our room was spacious, with a pretty view and a very comfortable bed. There weren't enough plugs by the bed, but we bring the extras we need, so it was fine. We'd heard about the good terrace dinners and booked ahead after management emailed an offer of dinner and breakfast for two for 100 euro. On arrival the manager offered a special BBQ menu with jazz music, and we agreed because we didn't know where else to go. That was a mistake: the food was mediocre and the loud, unpleasant music went late. It didn't sound like jazz at all. Even at a table as far from it as possible, it was still loud, and nothing like the quality French meal under the trees we'd expected. The special meal also cost more than the amount we'd agreed to. Breakfast runs from 8-10, but by 9 the ham was gone and wasn't replaced. At checkout the next morning, we were charged twice for dinner, an extra 100 euro. I caught it before we left, and they corrected it on the spot.

A really bad stay. The pool was empty, there were no outdoor chairs or loungers, the nightstand was broken, and we had no hot water. The AC was outside the room and made it loud, and noise was constant. Even after 11pm, people at the bar sounded like they were right in the room, so we couldn't sleep. I don't know where the good reviews came from.
