The setting is beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of nature, and the hotel is an easy drive from Paris for a short wellness break. The spa and restaurant fit the relaxing resort atmosphere, and the grounds alone would earn five stars from me. What brought my rating down was the service, especially at reception. The staff there came across as rude and unwelcoming, without the professionalism I’d expect from a four-star hotel. That had a big effect on a stay that otherwise could have been excellent. For the setting and location, I’d give five stars; for the staff, one. That level of customer service isn’t acceptable for a hotel like this. I’d still recommend it for the grounds, spa, and convenient location, but be ready for a disappointing welcome and some poor staff interactions.

We were treated kindly by the staff, and the hotel and grounds were lovely. Parking felt safe and was easy to access, and both the room and the rest of the property were clean. Our room was a good size, well equipped, and had an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good and had plenty of options, though it was quite expensive. We had a great stay and will most likely return. There was one thing that took a star off: under the side of the bed, we found underwear left by a previous guest. That’s normally quite unacceptable. The rest of the experience was very good and made up for it, but I’d like housekeeping to pay a little more attention so I don’t find something like that again.

In Room 5215, our laundry wasn’t delivered, and we never received a satisfactory explanation or a solution. It went missing during our stay, so guests should be aware there could be problems with laundry handling. Service in general was poor. Some of the staff delivering food also treated us badly, and reception was particularly unprofessional, rude, and unwilling to help. It made for a frustrating stay, and based on the service we received, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The room was more than big enough for two, and the property is spacious and set away from the bustle, so it was quiet and peaceful. That didn’t make up for the way our problem was handled. After a 10-hour journey, we checked in to a room with a strong sewage-like odor. When I reported it to the front desk, they said there wasn’t another room and suggested opening the window instead. I found that response below standard. It was a beautiful property, but poor service undermined the stay, and the setting couldn’t compensate for it.
