Gites Domaine de Bacqueville

We came for a family reunion with 30 other guests. The rooms were excellent, but the shared room barely fits the meal tables, leaving no place to socialise indoors apart from outside. The owner was extremely strict, repeating an excessive number of rules and prohibitions over and over. At the end, we found that the children had lost two or three plastic balls. We had to buy replacements and send them back to get our deposit returned. That was €10 after we'd paid more than €2,500 for the stay. Very petty, and it spoiled what could have been a lovely family gathering.

Our guests loved the estate’s tranquil, idyllic setting and its authentic feel. The grounds are stunning, and the accommodations are laid out so people can stay comfortably on site. The reception room and kitchen are very well equipped. The pool was a welcome break from the intense heat. Aline gave us a warm welcome both before and after we booked. We’d love to return and highly recommend the place.

The small kitchen beside the room was especially handy. Breakfast was a relaxed, sociable time to chat with the other guests. We had a wonderful stay, and really appreciated the kind hospitality. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place to unwind, and the hosts are welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and cool, with a lovely bathroom and comfortable bed. The pool was very nice, with a shower, toilet, and changing area.

I found this beautiful place on a yoga retreat. It was just right for that, with plenty of space and a calm, peaceful feel. Aline and her partner were lovely hosts, always smiling and wonderful to be around. Breakfast was generous and delicious, mostly homemade. Aline gives you such a warm welcome. I highly recommend it.
