The view and the space at the villa were good, and the pool was cleaned every week. We also got compensation for the problems. Still, for what we paid through Keylodge last October/November for three and a half weeks, we expected something fairly high-end and came away quite disappointed. The house wasn't properly clean when we arrived. The cleaning had been very superficial, especially on the floors and the kitchen utensils and cutlery. It was also missing basics for a stay like this: no bucket or mop, a faulty blender, poor kitchen equipment with not even a peeler, and a dishwasher door that was broken. The dish towels provided at first smelled foul. The fiber internet advertised wasn't fiber, one bathroom window wouldn't lock and made breaking in very easy even with the other doors and windows locked, and one shower was clogged with limescale so its showerhead couldn't be used. These problems didn't stop us enjoying the stay, but they were frustrating at those prices. Maintenance and attention to detail need much closer oversight. Keylodge was very hard to reach by phone or email, and kept passing the buck, though they eventually suggested some solutions. A representative first agreed to a partial refund for the inconvenience, then changed their tune after the trip. It took about fifty follow-ups before the refund finally came through six months later. That level of professionalism doesn't match the luxurious experience the company says it offers. It's a major drawback, and we'll avoid this agency on future trips to Réunion.
