Adonis Cottage La Baule

We stayed for just one night and came away a little disappointed. Our double room had a small outdoor space. Although the location is perfect, just steps from the city centre, restaurants, and main beach, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. The bathroom was very run-down, with faulty plumbing, and there were electrical wires on the floor where the conduit was broken. The front door slammed into the TV, and breakfast was only average.

I was passing through La Baule in July and didn’t have many places to stay. The villa was an authentic 1920s building, and it’s very well located behind the casino. The staff were generally welcoming. But at 78, getting my luggage up the difficult stairs to a third-floor room with no elevator was quite a challenge. The room was really small, with only 2 square meters total for the shower and toilet area, definitely unsuitable for overweight people. We stayed two nights, and the bed hadn’t been made.

The room was adequate, with a little balcony overlooking the trees, and we got a friendly welcome. It’s a charming small hotel about a 10-minute walk from the sea. Parking can be difficult depending on when you arrive. There are lots of steps, so if walking is difficult, choose the accessible room. One mattress was a real problem because you could feel the springs. The carpet was another issue, and the bathroom’s high bathtub was hard to get in and out of.

The room was spotless and very well equipped, and the staff were professional and helpful. We got such a warm welcome. A big thank you to the whole team for being so kind and friendly. I’d highly recommend the hotel and will definitely return!
