Hôtel Barrière l'Hermitage

We had a delicious, generous buffet breakfast each morning, and the beach was right across the street. At night we opened the big floor-to-ceiling windows to let in the fresh ocean air. The modern bathroom was huge, and the lovely rooms and attentive service from all the staff made us feel thoroughly looked after. We had such a relaxing stay at Hotel Hermitage in the beautiful town of La Baule on the Brittany coast. Even a night or two here would be memorable. The hotel closes for winter, so you can stay in spring, summer, or fall. I’ll definitely be back. Bravo!

The food was great, the service was amazing, and the beachside location made for an incredible stay.

The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff are very good. My sauna experience, though, was well below what I expected. The rest room is dark and a long way from the pool, and there was nothing to drink. I ended up using a tea cup to drink tap water because I was thirsty. It would also be nice to have a few magazines there.

The concierge stood out for their attention to detail and personal recommendations, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The bell staff took care with our luggage, while housekeeping kept the rooms clean and comfortable. At Hotel Barriere Le Royal, the service was excellent throughout. The gardens are a quiet, beautifully landscaped place to unwind, and the hotel sits right by the ocean, with easy access to the sandy beach and clear water. You can stroll by the shore, sunbathe, or try water sports. Dining was another highlight: the restaurant serves dishes made with local ingredients, and there's a well-chosen wine list to go with them. Hotel Barriere Le Royal in La Baule offers luxurious rooms and a memorable seaside stay. I'd be happy to return.
