The food seemed to take real effort from the kitchen, which made the evening’s service all the more disappointing. We’d come to the hotel restaurant hoping for a relaxed meal, but left feeling more shaken than satisfied. Our server looked overwhelmed, and we understood that busy nights happen. Still, he stayed brusque and dismissive, and pushed us toward dishes that were easier for the kitchen to prepare. It made us feel like a nuisance instead of welcome guests. When we tried to offer some gentle feedback and acknowledged how busy it was, he kept replying, “But the food is good, right?” He didn’t seem interested in hearing us or improving the experience. In the end, the service and atmosphere made it hard to enjoy what could have been a good meal.

We liked how quiet the hotel was and enjoyed the pool. It’s right in the town centre, with private parking as well as free street parking. The rooms were clean, had their own bathrooms, and were a good price. It’s family run, and breakfast was a good continental spread. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, though it always seemed busy. We enjoyed our visit and would book again.

The room was a good size, and it was easy to find the place and park. Breakfast was fine, and most of the staff were helpful and polite. The wet room was a little awkward to use once we’d showered.

The service was aimed at pleasing the customer, and the French-style food was well prepared. Prices were reasonable.

Breakfast was very limited, and the hotel could do with restoration. The woman at reception was unfriendly and unwilling to give us any information.
