The room and bathroom were okay, but the rest of the place felt like a ghost hotel, as though it had been closed for years. There was no staff, and the establishment had no frills. “Breakfast” was a few knock-off Nespresso capsules and some plastic-wrapped, long-life bakery goods. Very poor value.

The truffard was good, and my mother liked her stew, but the lopsided bowl made it very hard for her to cut the meat without tipping it. My father enjoyed his steak, while the bun on my burger was like cardboard. Service was painfully slow: my parents waited over half an hour for dessert. When I tried to get a waitress's attention, she smiled and walked toward me, then went to the next table instead. Nobody offered to refill our drinks, and it was impossible to get the bill. We eventually went to reception, found a bill sitting there that we realized was ours, and left cash beside it. Service seemed much quicker for the French customers than for our table, which was clearly mostly tourists.
