The local food was delicious, and the owners and staff made us feel like friends from the moment we walked in. My brother and I stayed two nights on half board while hiking the GR54, just to get some rest. The place feels cosy, with thoughtful personal touches, and the owners were happy to chat in French or English. Some of the nicest hotel people I’ve met. Highly recommend it.

I got severe food poisoning from the pork served on a meat and cheese platter. I had to quit the GR54 and spend the night at Gap Hospital, then pay extra to get home early for further tests. I’m certain it came from this establishment because I ate nowhere else during my two days in Chapelle. The staff were extremely friendly, but that doesn’t change what happened. I’ll report the establishment to the French Ministry of Health’s Adverse event department.

We’ll miss you! The people were lovely, the advice was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Every time we came into the restaurant, it felt like coming home. I’ve never been somewhere so welcoming.

With so few restaurants in La Chapelle-en-Valgaudémar, this is a real little gem the village can be proud of. We had a lovely meal, and the waiters were friendly and relaxed. The food was so good!

The food and drinks were wonderful, and the service felt very personal. We came by while hiking part of the GR45 and will stop again next time we’re in the area.
