B&B HOTEL Troyes Barberey

The kids were thrilled with the mezzanine, and breakfast was good too. Our room was clean and it was good value for money, so it made a perfectly satisfactory stop on the way to southern France. The motorway noise was the main downside. For one night, though, it's okay.

The breakfast was a letdown: there were only 26 places for a hotel with more than 70 rooms, and what was on offer was very basic and didn't taste fresh. It wasn't worth the extra money. I'd spend it at the next service station instead. The room was far too small for our family of four. My wardrobe is bigger than the bathroom, which felt even smaller because of the sloping ceiling. My daughter's duvet had stains on it, and the air conditioning was useless, even in December. I've stayed in other budget hotels across France, but I was extremely disappointed with the room size and value here. This franchise has lost me as a customer. Overpriced and basic, with very little to offer.

The room was really comfortable, and the children's beds were on a mezzanine. We used the 24-hour service machine and the process was smooth. The bathroom felt pleasant and airy, though the shower was the one drawback. You'd want to be of average height or it feels cramped. A very good stay overall.

The kids loved sleeping on the mezzanine, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. KFC right across the road was handy for a quick dinner. Just what we needed for one night during our road trip.
