Hotel Bhoma Troyes

We arrived at 10 pm on Friday and were let in, even though reception was supposed to close after 9. The service was very kind and professional. Room 213 was for three people, with a really nice double bed, but the two single beds were too small for adults. There was no remote control in the room. The bathroom smelled really bad. We got in too late to change rooms, though apparently there was an emergency number, which I hadn't noticed. Breakfast was okay but limited, with no hot food, eggs, bacon or pancakes. You can charge your car easily across the street. A handy place to stop while travelling south through France.

The room was clean, but we found three ladybug-sized bed bugs on the pillow. We flipped the sheets and pillows and found several more, so we told reception and asked to move rooms. It's a basic, budget-friendly hotel with no elevator. The lobby and breakfast area, which becomes the restaurant at dinner time, are very cozy. It looked like management had just changed, as temporary signage was put over the original.

We came across this lovely little place by chance because we wanted to be in the middle of a few places. The staff were lovely, and our room was amazing, easily the best of our trip, even after staying in some high-end places in Germany and Italy. The bed was the comfiest we've ever slept in, and I had such a good night's sleep I didn't want to get up! The price was amazing too, less than £150 for three nights for me, my wife and our baby boy. I highly recommend it and we'll definitely be back. Just bear in mind that Troyes isn't a big English-speaking place like Paris and some other areas, so brush up on your French.

The rooms are nice and clean, and look completely renovated. The location isn't the best, but it's fine if you're just passing through for one night, since it's close to the motorway. They charge 10 euros per night for a dog.
