We left without spending the night, something that’s never happened to me before. The owner was so rude that we decided not to stay. It’s an old hotel with a “four-star” label that feels like it belongs to another era, and I wonder where the stars come from. Even the entrance isn’t well kept. The room prices were higher than advertised, and the owner didn’t seem willing to explain why. Did I mention how rude he was? In his reply, he called my review fake, which only reinforced that impression. Good customer service means listening, thinking things through, and being open to change, but he doesn’t seem willing or able to do that.

We were there to watch the fireworks on July 13, 2018, and the location worked very well. The hotel is quiet and faces the Loire, with a large garage, easy access, and an elevator. The current owners gave us a very warm welcome in 2018. Thanks again for looking after us. Denis Roux-la-Marche 58400.

The view of the Loire from my second-floor room was superb, and the high ceilings, exposed beams, and large bathroom made it a lovely space. The ground-floor decor, though, was quite a surprise. With the patterned wallpaper and imposing furniture, it felt like stepping back into my grandmother’s house.

The prices are steep: the least expensive room is €87, and €12 for breakfast feels exorbitant. If you’re here for work, there’s a B&B for €74 including breakfast. Breakfast here doesn’t start until 7:45 am, which really doesn’t suit me. The rooms and bathrooms are old, even run-down, though functional. The building itself is beautiful, and it must once have been a lovely place. The owner isn’t very approachable, but he is professional. At least the Wi-Fi is decent, there’s Canal+, and, most importantly, air conditioning.
