The hotel itself has a lot going for it: it's right by the piste, the spa is large and modern, and the rooms are spacious, with generous terraces and attractive mountain views. Breakfast was solid, and dinner had high-quality dishes, stylish presentation and attentive service. Reception was a different story. When the hotel restaurant was fully booked, we asked for other options. They suggested two restaurants that might have space, but when we asked for help calling to book, the response was a brief refusal that didn't seem very interested in helping. One day we finished skiing early and got back at 2pm, but housekeeping still hadn't cleaned our room. Later, we asked for a late checkout and got another short no, without anyone trying to find an option or understand our situation. Since the room hadn't been serviced until mid-afternoon during our stay, we were surprised they couldn't consider a modest extension to noon. We only needed a quick shower before leaving. On our last day we checked out at 8am and asked to keep using the ski locker until midday, well before the next check-in. That was refused straight away too, with no discussion of timing or alternatives. When we asked how we should manage our ski gear and somewhere to change, they sent us to the hospitality room without explaining anything. My wife tried to ask for clarification in English, but the response stayed in French and the key was put on the counter without explanation. It came across as dismissive rather than helpful. The physical side of the hotel meets expectations, but reception service falls short of what you'd expect at this price. We would have expected a more guest-focused approach that tried to find solutions.

If I could give this hotel less than one star, I would. I called ten times over the course of a month to check whether they had a baby cot, but got no reply, so I ended up flying out with one myself. With a baby out of the car, the grumpy staff just watched me unload and drag everything into the dirty elevator. I can't imagine another country rating this as a four-star hotel. It was depressing walking in, and it would have helped if reception staff had smiled at some point. I left my jacket and sunglasses, with an AirTag inside, behind. They promised to call me back, but never did. I called about six times and was rudely told they didn't have them, even though the tag shows they're in the hotel. The room was barely cleaned, and they left trolleys with dirty towels outside the rooms. Do not stay here. It's shockingly bad, and NOT a four-star hotel.

The price was excellent for the quality, and the staff were very pleasant. Rooms were a good size, with little kitchen facilities that worked well. I had a lovely south-facing balcony where I could enjoy the sunshine during my few days there. The connected restaurant was good too, with an excellent buffet breakfast. It's only a few minutes' walk to the main lift and about five minutes to the centre. The hotel was just perfect, difficult to fault.

I left my gloves in the bar, and can't collect them, so please look after them. The spa and rooms were excellent. Spa access was free for one guest for a two-hour slot, with an extra charge for a second guest. Ski lifts and several bars and restaurants are a short walk away, though the hotel's own restaurant is definitely worth visiting too. The staff were excellent, hardworking and extremely professional, and deserve the praise. I begrudgingly give this wonderful hotel a glowing review, since it'll make it a little more popular and a little more expensive.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and the location was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent too. One of the best places I've ever stayed!
