Hôtel Les Voyageurs

The real gems here are the people and the restaurant. It's a very nice, quiet hotel too. Give it a try if you're passing nearby.

The breakfast turned out to be great, and the person serving it was very friendly. But the hotel felt overpriced, and the manager/owner's manner was horrible. I booked a room for one with breakfast included, and even with the email confirmation, he tried to tell me breakfast wasn't included. He said lots of people try to cheat him. He eventually accepted the confirmation, but only after a lengthy investigation. It turned out their booking system was at fault. The owner could use a good customer service course.

We stopped for lunch during a fairly long drive from Bergerac to Limoges. The meal was excellent, and we had a bottle of delicious Sauvignon blanc from Bergerac. We picked the pricier 'Gourmet' menu at 46 euro, and it was worth every centime. Our table was on the terrace, under sunshades, looking over the garden and pool. Very nice!

This was our fourth visit for a celebration meal, and it was superb again. The staff are excellent, helpful, and good with our dog. We use Logis for its standards and quality, and Les Voyageurs always lives up to them. We didn't score the meal 100%, even though it was superb, because some parts of my dish were removed due to my allergy without anyone thinking of an alternative for the plate. We'd told them about the allergy in advance. It's a small thing, but an alternative would have earned a gold star. I cook, though nowhere near your standard. For sauces or other elements, Lait D'Epeautre is a brilliant milk substitute. I highly recommend staying here. Our guests, none of whom had been before, all plan to return with their families to enjoy the food. I can't think of a better recommendation.
