Domaine de Calypso & Suites - Adult Only

The separate little house has a lovely terrace among the trees, and the pool is comfortable and a pleasure to use while it's open during the day. The air conditioning is modern and works well. But access to the domaine and house isn't very guest-friendly, and the bathroom, which also has the toilet, is so tight you have to get into the shower to shut the door. Ventilation is poor, and there's no clothes drawer or table, so eating breakfast indoors on a rainy day would be awkward. There isn't a sun umbrella on the terrace, either. The main building's rooms are partly gorgeous, but ours had no fridge for drinks or terrace. The separate terrace is the only place guests can eat their own food, and breakfast there isn't allowed before 10. The little house costs even more, despite guests being responsible for cleaning, and supplies like toilet paper and tea seemed to get cut back. What bothered me most was the lack of hospitality. We couldn't get even modest help with things like recycling plastic or doing laundry. The owner's rules and needs seemed to take priority. We apologized for opening the sun umbrellas without having read the instructions, and there was no damage, but the owner, who seemed to value privacy over dealing with guests, still made a big issue of it. At times it felt like camping at a five-star hotel price. And yes, guests are apparently at fault if they compare it with other places in France.

The room was so comfortable, especially that great bed, and I slept like a baby. Breakfast was really good too. I fell in love with the place and felt right at home thanks to the best host and all the thoughtful details. Thanks, Platón, for being so welcoming. I'll definitely come back!

The owners were so friendly, and the pool was amazing. Calypso has been renovated and looks really stylish. We had a lovely stay.
