Our week at the idyllic Le Clos des Sternes was wonderfully relaxing, and the perfect start to our holiday in France. Anne was incredibly considerate and made us feel at home, with everything thought through to make the stay memorable. It’s an ideal base for exploring Ile de Re. Shops, restaurants, and bars are just around the corner, and the private courtyard is lovely for a drink, a simple meal with all the fresh food and bread around, or cooking on the handy electric barbeque. There’s secure private parking too, and our car stayed there all week. The island is best explored on foot or, even better, by bike. It was such a welcome chance to travel again.

We love coming back here as a family, and have done for several years. It’s peaceful, clean, and there’s parking, with the lovely market and port nearby and plenty of nice walks. Delphine always greets us with a smile and such a cheerful welcome. We’re already looking forward to June and seeing her again.

It’s a lovely little place, and the apartment was spotless. Delphine was a really friendly, great host, and we had a very nice, if short, stay. We’d happily come back. A couple of things could be better: some kitchen utensils were missing, and having to check out by 9:30 at the latest felt much too early. 11 or 11:30 would be much nicer.
