The best parts were the location and the apartment itself. We had a clean, fully equipped place on the second floor with an open view, plus a balcony and awning. Booking through Victoria Immobilier went smoothly, the card payment was correct, and we appreciated the breakfast delivery at 8:30 each morning, the takeaway hamburger (really good), two decent pizzas, and discounts on some activities. It was quiet during the last week of May. Parking was free then, though it becomes paid from June 1st. Sheets were provided, but that conflicted with the reserving.com description, so we brought our own just in case. For €85 a night, the bed was the big problem. The wheeled 140 cm sofa bed had a flimsy mattress and was awful after more than one night. We left with back pain, which wasn't how we wanted to spend our vacation. A better mattress would be worth the investment, especially since even a Formula 1 hotel mattress is more comfortable. There was no air conditioning or fan, and it was impossible to get a cross breeze. Also, there was no smoke detector in the apartment. There’s no elevator either, which didn’t bother us, but people should know. We were told to expect Résidence l'Équateur, but ended up at the Pacific. That was fine for us, though the locations differ. The email arrival instructions weren’t clear: you have to collect the keys and instructions at the agency. There was no Wi-Fi, and mobile service was almost nonexistent or extremely weak across La Grande Motte, despite us having three different providers. It made figuring things out a real hassle. Breakfast was a letdown if you drink tea, since they only offered coffee. The kiwi was shriveled and unripe every morning; apricots or other seasonal fruit would have been welcome. We’re giving it two stars because decent bedding is the bare minimum for a three-night stay. If the bed, internet and coffee don’t matter to you, three stars might fit. Just remember parking costs after June 1st.
