Les Enfetchores

We were in apartment number 74, and wouldn't recommend it or return. On arrival we found no balcony, terrace, or window. Only two of the three bedrooms have skylights, as does the living room. The place was sold to us as "Les Balcon sur la Meije" and "Vue magnifique sur la Meije," while the many photos on Booking.com show the balconies and terraces of the "Appartements Enfetchores," in summer sunshine or covered in winter snow. The washing machine didn't work, and we only found out when the apartment flooded in the evening. I called the rental manager, who said there was nothing they could do and that we didn't need to wash anything for three days. She offered a basin for us to take to the village center laundromat. We spent the evening wringing out wet clothes by hand, moving furniture, and drying everything. No one called the next day to check if things were okay.

The village is really pretty, but I was disappointed with the winter road maintenance. We visited in early February and the sidewalks and small roads hadn't been cleared of snow. I even found frost on the sidewalk near the shops 👎👎👎

We stayed in La Grave in a very comfortable, well-equipped apartment for six people. It was central and close to the shops.

We got a friendly welcome, and the apartment was nicely laid out with a view of the Meije cable car. The parking space was very good.
